Humber International Development Institute Office, Etobicoke
This Project is a conceptual design of the new International Development Institute (IDI) facility on the 3rd floor of the Learning Resource Commons (LRC) at Humber College North Campus. IDI wanted their new space to possess spatial design elements, aesthetics, and furniture that would ensure productivity and success to their vision and add even more strength to their title as the leading collaborative facility within international development globally.
Design Approach:
A minimal and contemporary design that is open and light while incorporating biophilia, organic forms, materials and colours in a refined and sophisticated way.
The design supports the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of the factually and visitors of the Humber International Development Institute, located in the Learning Resource Commons at North Campus. It forms an inviting atmosphere by creating a sense of openness and a connection to nature. Implemented is a design approach that embraces open sightlines through the use of glass partitions and large windows, strengthening daylight and views. This connects factually and visitors to each other and the natural environment, which has been proven to increase productivity and well-being in the workplace.
